A New Eco-friendly Mall to be Built in Abu Dhabi
According to the announcement made by Majid Al Futtaim, they are building an eco-friendly mall in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. The mall, when completed will be one of the world’s most sustainable urban development projects and will be named "My City Centre Masdar City". As per the estimated schedule, the mall is to be opened by the end of the year 2018 and will have easy access to public transport options like buses, light rail transit, and metro.
The parking area can accommodate around 430 vehicles; and will be covered with photovoltaic panels. The whole construction will consume 40 % less electricity and water supply as compared to the other buildings of similar size. This makes the mall an innovation in the field of sustainable development.
On completion, the mall will have 60 outlets spread across 18,000 square meters. Along with the shopping outlets, it will have a Magic Planet - a family entertainment centre, a Carrefour hypermarket, a City Centre clinic for healthcare services and also some good dining options for shoppers.
The mall will thus be an innovative development as well as an interesting shopping destination for travellers and residents in Abu Dhabi.
